The Bermuda Triangle - the greatest modern mystery in the world we pretend to know all about. The Bermuda Triangle is a stretch of the Atlantic Ocean bordered by a line from Florida to the islands of Bermuda, to Puerto Rico and then back to Florida. Here ships and airplanes seem to disappear more often than in other parts of the ocean. Usually the craft are never seen again, which is not too surprising in an area noted for hurricanes and high waves.

Artists, historians and tourists have been fascinated by Mona Lisa’s enigmatic smile. Now it seems that the secret is being uncovered. Scientists analyzed the portrait of the Mona Lisa, a woman with famously mixed emotions, hoping to unlock her smile. They applied emotion recognition software that measures a person’s mood by examining features such as the curve of the lips and the crinkles around the eyes. Curious what they discovered?

The name ‘Jack the Ripper’ has become the most infamous in the annals of murder, with an identity that remains hidden even today. In the years 1888-1891 the name was regarded with terror by the residents of London’s East End, and was known the world over. He was not the first serial killer, but he was probably the first to appear in a large metropolis at a time of turmoil.

As a housewife and her daughter strolled on the corner of Norton and 39th, the two passed by several vacant lots that were overgrown with weeds. She caught a glimpse of something white in the bushes, what first appeared to be a store mannequin. But as she looked closer she realized that was no dummy, it was the dead body of a woman. On January 15, 1947, the severed body of Elizabeth Short was found in a vacant lot in Los Angeles, at 3800 Norton Ave, near 39th Street.
